Summer family sessions – pizza and percussion (not at the same time though!).
Massive thanks again to Social Farms & Gardens for a grant via the Hilden Charitable Fund which has  enabled us to run a series of free additional sessions for children and their families this summer.
It’s been wonderful to see everyone who’s come along.  All the sessions took place outside here at the community gardens, we were lucky with mostly dry weather (and even on slightly damp days we were able to stay outside and enjoy splashing in puddles!).

Each of the sessions incorporated several different things and all the sessions included lots of time for exploring, for sensory play, for relaxing and for curiosity.     Amongst the 10 sessions there were some focused specifically on cooking, some focused on percussion and song and the others incorporated a range of different sensory play opportunities (including hammocks, water, sand, bug hunting etc).

The cooking sessions included use of our outdoor cob pizza oven; participants gathered produce from the gardens to use and prepared this outside.

A very big thank you to everyone who came along and to all of our wonderful session leaders, including Karen with the delicious cooking sessions and Jude from BeatFeet Ltd  with the wonderful percussion sessions.
